Physiotherapist for Rehabilitation Medicine at Sandviken Hospital

Rehabilitation Medicine at Sandviken Hospital receives patients from all over Gävleborg County. Our largest diagnostic groups are stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and certain neurological diseases. The activity level of the patients varies from total dependence to only needing support regarding memory, problem-solving, structure, and speech, making it difficult to participate in daily, family, leisure, and community life. In the rehabilitation medicine department, you will be part of a team with various professional categories such as nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants, psychologists, doctors, leisure leaders, and speech therapists.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We work in teams and have a behavioral medicine approach, meaning we consider that behaviors and lifestyle factors also affect the body's disease states, onset, and especially its development. Adjacent to the department, we work in suitable training facilities and adapted outdoor environments. We also have access to a pool, training kitchen, training apartment, and garden. Some training is also conducted in the community.

As a physiotherapist with us, you will among other things:

• assess the patient's activity level from both a motor and cognitive perspective
• be responsible for assessment, treatment/training, and discharge planning for 3-4 patients
• maintain contact and collaborate with the patient, relatives, other team members, and external partners such as primary care and municipalities throughout the rehabilitation process.

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of physiotherapist, you should:

• be a licensed physiotherapist.

We would like you to have or want to develop specialist knowledge in neurology and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. We will also offer opportunities for training in these areas.

For this position, it is advantageous if you have training/experience in stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury rehabilitation, Bobath, and behavioral medicine.
