Job Advertisement: Nurse at the Stroke Unit
At the stroke unit, we care for patients with acute stroke/TIA and subsequent acute rehabilitation. We also care for patients who have undergone surgery for stroke or tumors by a neurosurgeon. The unit has a smaller stroke outpatient clinic for follow-ups and an external stroke team that continues rehabilitation and supports patients in their home environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you will have a varied and exciting job that provides you with a broad competence. You will be part of a team with good collaboration and a strong team spirit. We work together with the patient in a multiprofessional team consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, dietitians, social workers, pharmacists, and medical secretaries. You will be responsible for the care of your patients and lead your care team closely with nursing assistants.
As a nurse with us, you will among other things:
- follow the care chain and actively participate in meetings regarding the patient
- manage PEG/tube feeding and tracheostomies
- monitor neurological status NIHSS and NEWS
- participate in rehabilitation processes
- join rounds with doctors
- plan discharges together with the unit's care planners.

QUALIFICATIONS

You find it easy to collaborate with different professions, and you consider the best interests of the organization, contributing to development and seeing opportunities in change. For this role, it is important that you are engaged, patient, and flexible as it is special to work with patients who have suffered brain injuries.
In the role of nurse, you should:
- be a licensed nurse.
