Welcome to the Culture, Sports, and Leisure Administration

The administration consists of six departments. Four of the administration's departments are primarily responsible for the cultural committee's own operations: Uppsala Library, Uppsala Leisure, Uppsala Art and Cultural Heritage, and Uppsala Culture School. Two departments within the administration are offices that work directly on behalf of the administration's management and handle matters for the cultural committee and the sports and leisure committee.

Uppsala Leisure

Uppsala Leisure works on behalf of the Culture, Sports, and Leisure Administration and the cultural committee. The department is responsible for the municipality's leisure clubs and community centers run by the municipality itself. The department is also responsible for the municipality's two activity houses in Gottsunda and Gränby, the activity house Allis, the youth cultural house Grand, and the meeting place Återfika in Gottsunda. Work takes place during the day, evenings, and weekends and is prioritized based on needs that arise.

Job Description

We are now establishing a resource team aimed at strengthening safety, security, and inclusion in our leisure activities. The team will work both strategically and operationally to support leisure centers, leisure clubs, activity houses, multi-activity houses, and youth cultural houses throughout the municipality. The assignment will be mobile and involve work at various locations and times based on the needs of the operations.

As part of the resource team, you will among other things:

  • support leisure activities with safety and security-enhancing measures.
  • provide consultative support to staff and managers as needed.
  • participate in development work and contribute to the creation of routines, methods, and working practices.
  • provide support during special events or occasions when the operations need reinforcement or extra resources.
  • document and follow up on efforts.
  • work flexibly during the day, evenings, and some weekends based on the needs of the operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic education, for example in pedagogy, social work, or criminology. To succeed in the job, you need to have experience working with children and youth, preferably in leisure, school, social work, or similar fields. You also need to have experience working flexibly and mobile in various operations. The job requires that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

We would like you to have experience in safety-enhancing work or security-related assignments and in cross-professional collaborations and cooperation. It is an advantage if you have experience in conducting training, operational or method development, and working in a consultative or similar role. If you have training in neuropsychiatric disabilities, it is considered an asset. Having a B driver's license is a significant advantage.

As a person, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. You can distinguish between the personal and professional and adjust your approach based on the situation. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and can make correct assessments and priorities. The job suits you if you collaborate and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner and can create trusting relationships. Last but not least, you are open to new ideas and willing to try new methods and working practices to improve and develop things.
