Summer Substitute Nurse at Ward 6, Kungälv Hospital

The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

About Ward 6 at Kungälv Hospital

We are part of the Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation area, and you can find us at Kungälv Hospital.

We primarily care for patients who have suffered a stroke and patients with hip fractures and other osteoporosis-related fractures, as well as patients with internal medicine diagnoses.

During the summer, we will merge our two geriatric departments, stroke and geriatric orthopedic acute care, so you will meet patients with various types of diagnoses.

Work Approach

As a nurse with us, you will work with the acute phase of care in the stroke process and the management of patients admitted to the ward. Our GOA patients (geriatric orthopedic ward) are being prepared for or have just undergone hip surgery and have significant care needs.

As a summer substitute with us, we can offer you the opportunity to work around the clock with nursing assistants and nurse colleagues. You will also work together with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and dietitians to best meet the patients' needs.

All patients are cared for in their own rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees from different professions are offered the best conditions to utilize each other's and the patients' resources and competencies. The ward is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to a quiet care environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in stroke care, orthopedics, or elderly care.
