Your workplace will be at the safety and security unit belonging to the municipal executive office in Sigtuna Municipality. The unit works as a team to achieve the municipality's goals regarding safety and security. The unit's areas of operation consist of crime prevention, crisis preparedness, civil defense, information security, security protection, and field operations.

The safety and security unit is located in the municipality's Safety Center in Märsta center, where collaboration takes place with, among others, the Police, rescue services, security companies, property owners, permit handlers, and outreach social workers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a field worker, you are an operational resource in the municipality's safety and crime prevention work. You work proactively, preventively, and relationship-building with youth aged 11-19 in their everyday environments; on streets and squares, in schools, at youth centers, and at events. The work takes place during the day, evenings, and weekends.

You build trusting relationships with young people based on voluntariness, trust, and respect, to early identify needs for support and, if necessary, guide them to the right interventions. An important part of the assignment is collaboration with other actors, such as schools, social services, police, community organizations, parents, and businesses. You also participate in the municipality's crisis preparedness during special events.

Your responsibilities include:

• Working proactively and being present in public areas where young people are.
• Implementing preventive and promotional measures in schools and groups based on current themes.
• Creating and maintaining relationships with young people, guardians, and collaborative partners.
• Acting as a link between young people and the municipality's preventive services.
• Working both independently and in close teamwork according to common routines.
• Contributing to the municipality's long-term safety and crime prevention work according to RIF's definition of fieldwork.

The working hours include regular evening and weekend shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education in social work or another education that the employer deems equivalent. You have a B driver's license and preferably experience in outreach work with youth. It is an advantage if you have experience with evidence-based methods such as conversation techniques and knowledge of additional languages besides Swedish and English. Personal suitability will be given great importance.

As a person, you are secure, clear, and stable even in complex situations. You are relationship-building, attentive, and have good collaboration skills. You take responsibility, stand up for your values, and work solution-oriented with a focus on the common mission. Furthermore, you should be comfortable meeting and establishing contact with residents, comfortable speaking in front of groups, both adults and youth, and actively work for a positive and inclusive team spirit.
