Are you looking for a flexible and meaningful job where you make a difference every day? As a substitute with us, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important societal functions – while gaining valuable work experience.

As a substitute, you work as needed, for example when regular staff are absent. You make yourself available in our substitute management system Time Care Pool, and we hope that you are available for at least 8 shifts per month to create continuity in the operations.

Job Duties

Our three different substitute positions:

Meal Service – Culinary Joy for All Ages

You work in kitchens within preschools, schools, or elderly care – sometimes in teams, sometimes independently.

Your tasks may include:

• Cooking and preparing breakfast, lunch, snacks, and salad buffets
• Serving meals
• Handling special diets
• Washing dishes, cleaning, and laundry
• Self-control and food hygiene according to applicable routines

Working hours: Monday–Friday, with shifts scheduled sometime between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM (weekend work may occur).

Cleaning – Creating Comfort in Our Environments

As a cleaner, you contribute to a clean and pleasant environment for colleagues, children, the elderly, and visitors. You work in the municipality's premises such as:

• Preschools and schools
• Elderly homes
• Other municipal operations

The work includes daily cleaning as well as periodic tasks. You use modern tools, cleaning machines, and materials.

Working hours: Monday–Friday, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM

Combination – For Those Who Enjoy Variety

A combination position means that you work both in meal service and cleaning – a flexible role where you both clean the municipality's premises and support during meals. A perfect mix for those who enjoy variety and want to contribute where it's needed the most.

Working hours: Monday–Friday, with shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

• You have an easy time communicating professionally with the people you meet at the workplace such as colleagues and guests.
• You can work independently and together in a group.

Requirements:

• Trained chef, meal assistant, or cleaner or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
• Good knowledge of mobile and computer use.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.

Meritorious:

• Restaurant and food program or equivalent.
• Experience as a meal assistant or chef in a large kitchen.
• Experience in cooking both in smaller and larger quantities.
• Experience in cleaning
• Knowledge of handling special diets and various forms of food allergies.
• Driver's license and access to a car.

What does our recruitment process look like?

• Selection and interviews are conducted continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
• You need to provide two manager references, one of which should be your current or most recent manager. Have you had one or no job previously? Then you can provide another relevant reference, such as a supervisor or teacher. Contact your references before you enter their contact details.
• If you have previously been employed within Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former manager to obtain internal references as part of our recruitment process.
• For those who are not citizens of the EU/EES area, a work permit is required; this does not apply to those with permanent residence permits. The work permit must be presented at the interview.
