Stora Enso's sawmill Ala in Ljusne, north of Gävle, has been producing sawn timber since 1854. It also manufactures processed wood, value-added finger-jointed products, and pellets.

Ala is a pine sawmill with an annual capacity of about 400,000 cubic meters, as well as its own pellet production of about 100,000 tons. Currently, Ala Sawmill has 143 employees.

Your tasks

Stora Enso Timber AB is now looking for mechanics to join the maintenance team.

The maintenance is carried out in close cooperation with operations, where we focus on high availability in our facilities.

We are now looking for mechanics who enjoy challenges and want to help develop maintenance work at Ala Sawmill.

As a mechanic, you will play a central role in ensuring the availability and reliability of the machinery. You will actively work to prevent and anticipate equipment wear and perform urgent repairs as needed. By following safety regulations and OHSE standards, you ensure that work is always carried out in a safe and responsible manner.

You will be responsible for performing precision-oriented maintenance such as assembly, adjustments, balancing, and lubrication, ensuring that machines and equipment are in the best possible condition. The role also involves documenting work in our CMMS system, conducting regular inspections, and reporting any deviations. You will work closely with colleagues and assist in supervising subcontractors as needed.

The position begins with a probationary employment at Stora Enso Timber AB with shift work.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with relevant technical or practical high school education with a focus on mechanics. You have experience in mechanical maintenance and repairs such as welding and bearing replacements. Experience in lubrication technology and precision maintenance is an advantage. We place great importance on your personal qualities, where we see that you have a strong safety focus, are service-oriented, and communicative. You take initiative while being a good team player. A driver's license (B) is required, as well as good knowledge of Swedish.
