We make the parks bloom and ensure that the organic waste you sort becomes biogas for cars and fertilizer for our fields. We prepare nutritious meals for our children, youth, and the elderly – every day. We are responsible for maps and GIS so that the community can develop. We ensure that there is clean water in your tap and in nature, and that our students get to and from school safely with school transport. We manage properties such as nursing homes, schools, swimming pools, and sports halls – keeping them clean and nice. Together, we are the technical administration – a part of Hudiksvall Municipality.

Your workplace

In the municipality's water and sewage operations, a total of 29 people work to supply a large part of the municipality's residents and businesses with municipal drinking water and to treat the wastewater that is discharged into the municipal sewer system.

The water and sewage operations are one of five operations within the technical administration. We operate throughout the municipality but have our main workplace at Reffelmansverket in Hudiksvall. The department has three sections that work with the operation and maintenance of waterworks, sewage treatment plants, and pipelines, as well as a more overarching function for investigations, projects, new construction, subscriber issues, and similar tasks.

Job responsibilities

As a water operations technician, you will work with the operation and maintenance of our approximately 30 drinking water facilities throughout the municipality. These facilities consist of waterworks, elevated reservoirs, and pressure boosting stations.

As a technician with us, you have a significant responsibility to ensure that our facilities are managed and maintained as optimally as possible. You will closely collaborate with other technicians within your unit, but close cooperation will also occur with other staff.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• operation, maintenance, and optimization of the process
• troubleshooting, repairs, and planned maintenance of machinery and technical equipment
• sampling, analysis, and documentation of water quality
• monitoring process parameters via control and monitoring systems
• control rounds and supervision of drinking water facilities
• work with operation journals, reporting, and deviation management
• participation in maintenance planning and improvement work

In addition to the responsibilities within your unit, you may also be required to assist with other tasks within the operations as needed.

On-call duty may be included in the position.

Since the job involves working in drinking water facilities, good hygiene and organization of tools and equipment are essential.

Your profile

A technician education or equivalent competence acquired in another way is required. Experience in the operation and maintenance of water facilities is an advantage.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

You will collaborate with others in the department and have contacts with subscribers and contractors. Good teamwork skills are required for these assignments. You should be responsible, service-oriented, empathetic, and have the desire and interest to help subscribers and colleagues. You have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
