Mechanic at Gästrike Återvinnare

Do you want to work with service and repair of heavy vehicles in a socially important business that makes a difference for the environment? Gästrike Återvinnare is now looking for a dedicated mechanic for the Transport and Service department in Gävle. You will be an important part of keeping our vehicles in top condition and contributing to a sustainable future.

About the Position

As a mechanic, you will be responsible for performing service, repairs, and maintenance on our trucks, trailers, and other vehicles. You will work to ensure safe operation, minimize downtime, and comply with applicable legal requirements. The role involves both practical work in the workshop and documentation in our systems.

Your tasks will include:

• Performing troubleshooting, repairs, and service on vehicles.
• Conducting inspections according to service plans and inspection requirements.
• Managing work orders: receiving, documenting, and closing in system support.
• Ordering spare parts and managing inventory of tools and materials.
• Handling urgent work and prioritizing as needed.
• Contributing to improvement work and following routines for work environment and safety.
• Collaborating with drivers and operations staff to solve problems.
• Maintaining the wash hall and treatment facility.

Working hours: Weekdays from 06:30 AM to 03:30 PM.
Location: Stationed in Gävle and based out of Gävle.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with a vehicle technology education or equivalent experience. You are meticulous, solution-oriented, and enjoy working both independently and in a team.

We would like you to have:

• Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Knowledge in welding (MIG/MMA).
• Good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Driving license B (C is an advantage).
• Basic IT skills for documentation and system management.
