Safety Officer at the Culture and Leisure Administration
In Trelleborg, we work together for a growing successful community where it is good to live. Our 61 villages and 21 districts are creative meeting places that bubble with life. Here, we want to do things, tell about them, and come just as we are. This means we welcome others in the same generous and curious way.
Welcome to take your place on the journey!
The Culture and Leisure Administration works based on everyone’s right to meaningful free time. In all our activities, we create opportunities for people to meet, co-create, experience, and participate in a varied range of cultural, sports, and leisure activities for all. Culture and leisure are important pieces in a growing Trelleborg, and our work contributes to attractiveness, safety, as well as quality of life and public health.
The Workplace
The Safety Unit belongs to the Culture and Leisure Administration and has the entire municipality as its area of work. We create opportunities for safe meetings with culture, events, and sports as common denominators. Our goal is to proudly and joyfully create an active and safe everyday life for the residents of Trelleborg.
We are an ambitious team that develops together and benefits from each other's knowledge in daily work.
Job Responsibilities
As a safety officer, you work preventively with a focus on children and young people. Your main task is to be a visible and safe adult in youth environments and create presence in strategically selected places in the municipality, especially where there has been unrest, where something has happened, or where there is a risk of insecurity. Through dialogue, activities, and support, you build relationships and contribute to a meaningful leisure time for young people.
The work involves collaborating with colleagues from social services, schools, police, youth centers, and other relevant actors to promote safety and participation. You participate in lectures for schools and civil society, engage in After School activities alongside youth centers, and document events as part of the joint safety work.
The position is varied and social, and you will be part of a work group with other safety officers where you collaborate closely in daily work. Working hours are primarily scheduled Monday to Friday during the day, but evenings and weekends may occur. During work shifts, safety officers wear work clothes and have access to cars to move between different locations in the municipality.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with post-secondary education or ongoing studies in social pedagogy, behavioral science, social work, or similar fields. You have experience working with children and young people in leisure, school, or social services and are confident in handling conflicts and socially complex situations.
You have a good ability to build trust and relationships, and you collaborate well in a group while promoting collegial learning. We see that you express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and that you have a B driver's license and good driving experience.
It is an advantage if you:
- Have experience in outreach fieldwork.
- Have knowledge of prevention work.
- Master other languages besides Swedish.
- Have worked on building up an organization.
As an applicant for the position, you must be able to submit a valid extract from the criminal record.
