Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Ward 8 is a medical ward with 28 beds – focused on IMA/specialist medicine.

Three years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern ward buildings. The work has changed as each patient is now cared for in their own room, and the ward is equipped with the latest technology in the field.

Ward 8 will have 3 IMA-focused beds. In these intermediate care beds, patients with care and treatment needs requiring special monitoring and training, but not intensive care, are cared for. There is a higher staffing density of nursing assistants, nurses, and doctors on these beds. You will have great opportunities to encounter many different interesting medical diagnoses within our three departments.

Job Responsibilities and Work Methods

On Ward 8, each nurse will be responsible for a maximum of 7 patients, of which 3 beds are IMA-focused, and the work is led by two unit managers in a shared leadership model. The work on the ward is knowledge-intensive, developing, and exciting, and we provide advanced medical care. We work in teams and with person-centered care in collaboration with nursing assistants, nurses, paramedics, and doctors to make the best use of each other's competencies. We are looking for nurses for day and evening shifts.

About You

We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others and wants to be part of our wonderful team where we collectively drive the business forward, work on improvement initiatives, and create and develop our ward and our methods with patients in focus.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed nurse, and it is advantageous if you have previous experience in the medical field.

It is important to us that you are driven to help develop care with the patient at the center, as well as actively share your knowledge with colleagues and equally eagerly learn from their expertise. Orientation and shadowing will be assessed based on your individual competence to ensure you have the best possible start.

Clinical Foundation Year

For you who are a newly graduated nurse/radiology nurse, a Clinical Foundation Year is included during the first year of your permanent employment. The Clinical Foundation Year includes lectures, process-oriented nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. It also includes shadowing in other departments to give you a broader understanding of the hospital where you work. This is an initiative aimed at providing you with the opportunity to further develop in your profession and build your professional identity.
