The maintenance organization of about 20 people has undergone an organizational change this year and is an organization in development. The department consists of a reliability team; technicians and engineers, supervisors, planners, and performers in mechanics, electrical, and instrumentation, as well as a team in technical service where the project process exists, and it is in that team that this position will be organizationally located, which means reporting to the head of technical service. Within maintenance, cross-functionality is important, and work is done across departmental boundaries; the position will adapt based on organizational development and personnel.

We are looking for a mechanical engineer/project manager for our Maintenance Department. You will work alongside other engineers and project managers in the department. Responsibilities include driving your own projects of varying nature that can be increasingly challenging and extensive. Within the operation, there is static and rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, pipes, storage tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, dryers, and other process equipment, but you will also work cross-functionally in other areas.

In addition to driving modifications in the form of small or large renewal, improvement, or maintenance projects, you will also support the workshop and contribute to continuously improving the operational reliability of our factories, for example, by conducting root cause analyses. Being a contact person and taking responsibility for contractors is part of the role.

The position is varied and also involves close collaboration with other departments, and you will spend approximately as much time in the field at the factories as you do at your desk. Fieldwork includes troubleshooting, problem-solving, preparation for project work or repairs, as well as following up on project progress, checking the work environment for project personnel, safety reviews, and risk analyses, etc.

As a project manager, you will lead or be involved all the way from preliminary design until the equipment is installed and commissioned. This includes project reporting, cost estimation/project calculations, and budget follow-up.

Responsibilities also include;

  • Contact with Yara's global organization for larger procurements or complex projects.
  • Updating governing documents related to your tasks
  • Contact with other Yara facilities to share knowledge and experiences
  • Contributing to the work on continuous improvements

We prioritize health, environment, and safety, and you will actively contribute to creating a safe working environment.

Your qualities

  • You are safety-conscious
  • You work independently, structured, and are good at prioritizing and planning your work
  • You have a technical interest and enjoy further developing yourself
  • Good collaboration skills and leadership qualities as there are many points of contact
  • Great importance is placed on personal suitability

Qualifications

  • You are a qualified engineer in mechanical engineering or equivalent competence.
  • You have work experience in the mentioned areas (experience outweighs education)
  • You are proficient in English and Swedish in both spoken and written form
  • You are computer literate and have an easy time learning to use new systems
  • Experience in project management is an advantage
  • Experience from the process industry is also an advantage.
  • Experience with the following systems is also advantageous: SAP-PM, AutoCAD

Who are we today in Maintenance?

We are a team with great breadth, where some have worked at the company for a long time and some not quite as long. The organization has changed, we have exciting development opportunities ahead of us and things are happening. There is a belief in the future and visions in the pipeline that will involve both challenges and opportunities in the form of projects, modernizations, and working methods.

With us, you will encounter everything from modern equipment to older facilities, with all that entails in terms of knowledge, problem-solving, and variety in everyday life. We actively work with operational reliability, project management, and asset management – and we are constantly evolving.

The safety culture is an obvious part of our work, and we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to it. But as important as technology and processes are, so are we as people. Therefore, we place great importance on your personality – how you are, what you contribute, and how you function in a team. You will have a large personal responsibility, but also be part of a context where we support each other, have coffee together, and have fun at work.

Do you want to be part of developing – and at the same time help develop? Then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.

Submit an application – we look forward to hearing from you!
