We are looking for a Construction Manager / Sub-project Manager for a state-owned entity in energy production and district heating.

This is a consulting assignment. The work location is Stockholm.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

As a construction manager/sub-project manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating construction-related parts of projects within process industry, construction, infrastructure, and real estate. The role involves ensuring that the work is carried out according to established goals regarding time, cost, quality, work environment, and environment, as well as acting as a link between project managers, contractors, consultants, and clients.

Responsibilities

Develop technical specifications and tender documents; responsible for evaluation and procurement.

Lead and follow up construction contracts within the assigned sub-area.

Plan, coordinate, and manage the construction process from start to completion.

Ensure that the work complies with contracts, documents, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in design and review of construction documents.

Develop and follow up schedules, costs, forecasts, and changes.

Ensure quality through self-checks, inspections, and follow-ups; manage deviations.

Coordinate contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

Lead construction meetings, coordination meetings, and site meetings.

Ensure information dissemination and documentation; represent the client on the construction site.

Follow up on work environment and safety requirements (BAS-P/BAS-U if necessary).

Ensure environmental requirements, sustainability goals, and legislation; manage risk analyses and work environment plans.

Participate in final and warranty inspections; ensure as-built documents and operation and maintenance documentation.

Support handover to management or operations.

Be responsible for the implementation of the assigned construction sub-project; make decisions within given frameworks.

Be responsible for monitoring contractor performance and reporting to project manager/head project manager.

Requirements (Note, mandatory)

Master’s degree in engineering, bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent. Alternatively, vocational training with relevant experience.

Several years of experience in construction management or project management within construction/infrastructure. Good knowledge of contract forms (AB, ABT) and AMA*.

Good knowledge of the construction process, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Good knowledge of PBL, BBR, AML.

Good computer skills, e.g., MS Project, Excel, Bluebeam, SharePoint.

Driver's license (work both on construction sites and in the office within Greater Stockholm).

Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Desirable

PMI certification.
