The Department of Health and Care is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as providing support to their relatives. Our goal is to focus on the citizen and provide good conditions for an independent, stimulating, and safe living situation - around the clock. We are 2,500 employees who, in our various roles, provide support and care to the citizens who need it.

The position and job responsibilities

We are looking for four temporary nursing assistants for our day and evening shifts with a focus on dementia and somatic departments.

As a nursing assistant, you provide person-centered care with a focus on a rehabilitative approach that supports the users' abilities. At Tunängen's care and nursing home, the work is characterized by responsibility, commitment, and person-centered care. The job includes daily documentation of actions and the user's health status according to the Social Services Act, and you are also responsible for planning and implementing daily activities that create a social and meaningful content in everyday life.

Your main job responsibilities:

  • meet the users' individual needs for care, nursing, and service
  • carry out delegated and regular healthcare interventions according to the Health and Medical Services Act
  • establish and follow up implementation plans in dialogue with the care and support recipient
  • document actions in Lifecare according to SoL and HSL
  • conduct individual risk assessments for the care and support recipient and the work environment
  • distribute medications and insulin with approved delegation
  • provide users with social and emotional support
  • escort users to various care interventions and activities

The position involves responsible and meaningful work where you support the users' health and well-being every day. By working closely with both users and colleagues, you contribute to a safe, stimulating, and high-quality care environment. We work with co-planning, which means that all employees have a base unit where they are scheduled most of their time. During the month, there are also shifts where you act as a resource for the entire facility. We start from a basic schedule of four weeks and expect you to be able to work every day of the year.

The positions include both day and evening shifts, with inconvenient working hours and work every other weekend.

Who you are

You have an education from the Health and Care program or a nursing assistant education from Komvux/Vocational College. To be employed as a nursing assistant, a certificate of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required. You also have at least 1 year of experience working in health and care.

Other requirements:

  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Experience with documentation according to the Social Services Act.
  • Experience in elderly care, preferably within care and nursing homes, focusing on both dementia and somatic care.

Meritorious:

  • Experience or education in dementia, social psychiatry/geriatric psychiatry, and multi-morbidity.
  • Experience working as an activity leader or having had activity responsibility.
  • Previous experience or education in the area you are applying for.
  • Experience working in the Lifecare system.
  • Delegation of tracheostomy, insulin, and tube feeding.
