Operations Technician for Crematorium in Lilla Aska

Linköping's Cathedral Parish is responsible for the burial services in central Linköping and manages the cemeteries in the center, the cemetery in Lilla Aska, and the cemetery in Landeryd. The responsibilities include arranging and providing burial plots, even for those who do not belong to the Church of Sweden or any other religious community, receiving remains for storage and viewing, managing burials and cremations, and providing facilities for funeral ceremonies. Our cemetery department is responsible for managing our cemeteries and burial sites, thereby also preserving our cultural heritage. We are now looking for an operations technician for our crematorium in Lilla Aska.

About the Position

As a crematorium technician, you are part of the burial services in Linköping. An important societal function that places high demands on accuracy and operational reliability. The position includes participating in the daily operations of the cremation process, including associated preparatory and follow-up work, monitoring, and service. Together with the crematorium master, you will plan the operations and maintenance long-term and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The position also includes standard administrative tasks. Together with five other colleagues, you will manage digital burial and cremation records, and you will jointly be responsible for the urn archive and the chapel's inventory. You will also serve at funeral ceremonies in our chapels in Lilla Aska and have contact with relatives, funeral agencies, authorities, and our own cemetery expedition.

Some tasks are performed independently, but most of the work is done in collaboration with your closest colleagues. There will also be visitors to our crematorium, and therefore it is part of the job to answer questions and assist with what is needed within your area of responsibility.

About You

We are looking for someone who is a trained operations technician or has another relevant technical background. We prefer that you have knowledge of flue gas processes and you may have worked as an operations technician at a heating plant or completed boiler operator training. We value knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, control and regulation, as well as electricity. Experience in a similar crematorium role is advantageous, but if this is a new industry you want to develop in, you will receive thorough introduction and training with us.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a socially important function where responsiveness and good ethics are crucial. Previous experience in burial services is advantageous. We prefer that you enjoy practical tasks and can see opportunities when conditions change. We also value experience in dealing with people in grief, as you need to be able to listen and handle sensitive issues calmly and factually.

To succeed in the role, you also need to have good administrative skills and work in a structured and meticulous manner. It is important that you are a team player with good collaboration skills who can communicate effectively. As a person, you are driven, solution-focused, and flexible. We value the ability to work goal-oriented and independently under your own responsibility.

The position also requires that you have good IT skills and a B driver's license.
