About the hotel

Scandic Visby is located with the best starting point to explore the medieval town or to drive out into the countryside. A lovely hotel with a resort feel, where the rooms are divided into different buildings. Our restaurant is open year-round where we serve breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening, with menus that are adapted to the season. During the summer, we open our lovely outdoor terrace with a pool, and for those who want to swim year-round, we offer the warm hot tub under the open sky.

What does the role of Receptionist entail?

As a receptionist, you are responsible for ensuring that our guests receive world-class service. You are the spider in the web who ensures that the guest is always the focus. You go through the arrival list and pay attention to the details. You make sure that the guest's wishes are fulfilled. You always have a smile on your face and a creative solution up your sleeve. You solve most issues and are a star at turning an unhappy guest into a satisfied one. Your workplace is our lobby, as that is where you meet most guests. Your responsibilities also include administrative work, security work, and sales work.

The work in the reception involves checking in and out hotel guests, welcoming them, and providing the information they need about their stay. You handle bookings in the Opera Cloud system and manage administrative tasks around guests and security. All work is done with guest satisfaction and sales in focus.

The hotel is open 24/7, so it is important that you enjoy working shifts (mornings, afternoons, and weekends).

Who are you?

To fit into the role, we believe you have a well-developed social ability and can handle many different things happening at the same time. It is very important that you can convey good hospitality to the hotel’s guests.

You also have experience and knowledge of working with a computer as a tool.

Since the job largely consists of communicating with guests, good knowledge of Swedish and English is a prerequisite. If you speak another language, it is an advantage. To work in the reception, you need to be at least 20 years old, as certain permits require it.

However, the most important are your personal qualities and your attitude. To fit into the role, you need to be a responsive and unpretentious team player who takes great responsibility for your tasks and the overall result. It is an advantage if you have some form of education in Hotel Management.

Information about the position

The position is a seasonal part-time employment of about 70-80%. We have a long season in Visby and would like you to be available from April/May and can work until September/October.

The hotel is open 24/7 every day of the week. You will work shifts in morning and evening shifts, weekdays and weekends. Night shifts may occur.
