The temporary staffing department is part of the HR department and is responsible for covering the short-term need for staff for all operations within Region Gävleborg. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work as a healthcare assistant is varied, exciting, and educational. The tasks vary depending on which department, clinic, or health center you work at. You will work closely with the patient in close collaboration with the nurse.

As a healthcare assistant in psychiatry, you will primarily work with:

• Preventing the spread of infection through basic hygiene routines and dress codes
• Participating in planning, implementing, and following up on nursing measures, both psychiatric and somatic
• Participating in the establishment and follow-up of the patient's care plan
• Contributing to making the patient involved in their care and treatment
• Contacting and collaborating with the patient's relatives
• Cooperating with other units and care neighbors
• Documenting

As a healthcare assistant in health and medical care, you will primarily work at a health center or with somatic care. You will perform tasks such as:

• Preventing the spread of infection through basic hygiene routines and dress codes
• Monitoring the patient's vital parameters
• Preventing pressure ulcers and falls
• Monitoring the patient's nutrition and oral health
• Wound care
• Mobilizing the patient
• Venipuncture
• Documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

In the role of healthcare assistant with us, you need to be stable and maintain control in acute situations. Interaction and communication between you, the nurse, and the workgroup are crucial in ensuring good health for the patient. You need to be flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.

Having a good initiative, showing interest, and being helpful are important qualities for succeeding in the role of healthcare assistant with us. Additionally, you need to be a secure person and work with a strong focus on basic and safe care. You have an ethical approach and convey security in uncertain situations.

In the role of healthcare assistant, you should:

• Have a high school diploma in health and care or have completed the third term of nursing education
• Have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Have good computer skills as documentation is done digitally
• Not have another employment of more than 50%. Exceptions are made if you have ongoing healthcare education
• Be able to work at all hours of the day and all days of the week

We prefer that you have experience working in health and medical care.
