Rederi AB Göta's three classic canal boats sail on one of the world's most beautiful and breathtaking waterways - the Göta Canal, which connects Stockholm with Gothenburg through over 60 locks. We offer exclusive cruises with full board and guided excursions.

We are looking for genuine, committed, and reliable employees who want to contribute to the enchanting atmosphere on board and create memories for our guests for a lifetime.

As these are old boats, the ceiling height is limited to 185 cm in several places on board.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Takes pride in representing the unique experience we provide to our guests on board.
  • Has at least 3 years of experience working in a cold kitchen.
  • Is self-sufficient and used to planning their own work and ordering supplies.
  • Provides excellent service that meets and exceeds guests' expectations.
  • Is a social team player with a positive attitude.
  • Feels confident in their work role and professional skills.
  • Is stress-resistant, flexible, and a problem solver.
  • Is accustomed to long working days.
  • Has good experience with special diets and the skills to deliver equally first-class meals to our guests with these needs.

Working at sea entails great responsibility as you will be part of the safety organization on board, so it is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, which is the safety language on board, as well as English since most of our guests come from abroad. Knowledge of German and other languages is highly meritorious.

As a cold kitchen assistant, you, together with the chef, are responsible for all guest and crew meals, which means that in addition to preparing starters and desserts for 2-course lunches and 3-course dinners for our guests every day, you will also prepare salads for crew meals. You will also prepare afternoon snacks for the guests on board.

Your responsibilities also include inventory, ordering, cleaning, and dishwashing.

You are stress-resistant and flexible as the logistics in the galley differ significantly from a classic restaurant kitchen. We focus on classic Nordic flavors with modern twists, and it is you who, with pride, love, and care, conveys these through the plate.

We therefore see that you:

  • Have documented relevant professional experience (at least 3 years)
  • Are a creative cook with a genuine interest in preparing beautiful and delicious food.
  • Are familiar with inventory and ordering/purchasing.
  • Have good knowledge of raw materials and knowledge of safe food handling (HACCP).
  • Feel confident working independently.

We offer:

  • Seasonal employment from May/June to Aug/Sept 2026
  • 1:1 rotation work/leave
  • Tariff salary according to the Archipelago Agreement Seko
