Strömma Kanalbolaget is a brand within the Strömma Turism & Sjöfart AB group that conducts experience-based travel and activities in several cities across the Nordic region. We are now looking for seasonal captains for our operations in Gothenburg to work aboard our archipelago vessels that operate in Gothenburg harbor and archipelago.

As a captain on our passenger boats in both scheduled and charter traffic, you will not only be responsible for safely navigating and maneuvering the vessel, but also for leading your crew and working according to the company's ISM and policies. We expect you to have excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English and possess a high social competence as you will be the company's face to guests and visitors. Your personal qualities will play a significant role in the hiring process. YOU ARE

• Trained ship's officer and may already have gained practical experience working as a captain aboard passenger vessels.
• Proactive and solution-oriented with natural leadership qualities and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Unpretentious and contributes to a positive atmosphere among your colleagues.
• Calm and composed, even under stressful circumstances, you manage to provide guests with a professional reception and your crew with thoughtful leadership.
• Open, pedagogical, and collaborative.

YOU HAVE

• Minimum qualification as ship's officer Class VI (Archipelago boats).
• Machine officer Class VIII diploma.
• CCM certificate and Basic Safety certificate.
• Radio certificate, at least SRC.
• Valid medical certificate for seafarers.
• Documented experience in maneuvering and navigating in archipelagos and narrow fairways and harbors.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

• Experience working in the tourism and experience industry or another service profession.
• Experience in vessel maintenance.
• Knowledge of a third language in addition to Swedish and English.
• Experience with water jet propulsion.
• Grew up with boats.
• Ability to work full-time or extra during spring and autumn.
