Paddan Sightseeing has been operating sightseeing activities aboard our so-called "Paddan boats" since 1939, navigating the beautiful canals and harbor of Gothenburg. Paddan is one of about 30 brands within the Strömma Turism & Sjöfart AB group, one of Scandinavia's largest experience companies with a strong connection to Swedish tourism history.

For the 2026 season, we are now looking for more reliable and engaged captains who can safely and comfortably navigate our Paddan boats through the city's canals and harbor, contributing to providing our guests with world-class experiences and memories for life. As a captain on our passenger boats in both scheduled and charter traffic, you will not only be responsible for safely operating and maneuvering the vessel but also leading your crew and working according to the company's ISM. We expect you to have excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English and possess high social competence, as you will be the company's face to guests and visitors. Your personal qualities will play a significant role in the hiring process.

YOU ARE

• Trained ship's officer and may already have gained practical experience working as a captain on passenger vessels.
• Proactive and solution-oriented with natural leadership qualities and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Unpretentious and contributes to a positive atmosphere among your coworkers.
• Calm and composed, even under stressful circumstances, you manage to provide guests with a professional reception.

YOU HAVE

• Ship's officer Class VIII diploma
• Engine officer Class VIII diploma
• Radio certificate at least SRC
• Valid medical certificate for seafarers
• Fluent English in speech and writing

AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

• Experience with water jet operation.
• Experience in vessel maintenance.
• Experience working in the tourism and experience industry or another service profession.
• Knowledge of a third language besides Swedish and English.
• Grew up with boats.
• Ability to work full-time or extra during the spring and autumn.
