Rederi AB Göta's three classic canal ships travel on one of the world's most beautiful and breathtaking waterways - the Göta Canal, which connects Stockholm with Gothenburg through over 60 locks. We offer exclusive cruises with full board and guided excursions.

We are looking for genuine, dedicated, and reliable employees who want to contribute to the enchanting atmosphere on board and create memories for our guests for a lifetime.

As these are old boats, the headroom is limited to 185 cm in several areas on board.

We therefore expect you to have:

• Ordinary Seaman certification or higher according to STCW Manila
• Engine Officer Class VIII certificate
• Basic Safety according to STCW Manila
• Valid Medical Certificate for Seafarers
• Documented experience as a seaman and good references
• Experience in technical/repair work

Working at sea involves great responsibility as you will be part of the safety crew. It is important that you have good knowledge of Swedish, which is the safety language on board, as well as English since most of our guests come from abroad. Knowledge of German and other languages is highly meritorious.

As a seaman, you will be responsible for the engine and our various systems, which requires relevant experience. General deck duties, lock operations, maintenance, dishwashing, cleaning, and waste management are also part of your tasks.

We require a strong safety mindset where you are attentive and responsive to situations that arise. You will work closely with the apprentice, mate, and captain, but also with the catering staff and step in where needed.
