Technical Officer for TSS in Östersund
TekA consists of two sections and has personnel in Sollefteå and Östersund. Here, specialists work with Technical Customer Reception (TKM) and Technical System Support (TSS).
About the Section
As a technical officer at TSS, you will work with some of the military's most central material systems in the ground arena. You are expected to have a good technical understanding, experience in interpreting maintenance processes, and experience working in PRIO and LIFT or a willingness to quickly develop such skills.
TSS is responsible for:
- Training in technical service
- Functional management at company and battalion level
- Technical service during exercises
- Troop repairs and technical operational support
- Repairs and maintenance within ground systems
In this position, you will have the opportunity to specialize in your technical area and contribute to developing routines, work methods, and technical training within the garrison.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and conduct training in technical service
- Manage and follow up information in the support systems PRIO and LIFT
- Support other units within the garrison
- Provide technical operational support and functional management in your area
- Participate in exercises and field operations
- Contribute to the development of technical methods and processes within the garrison
This is a position for you who want to work with advanced systems, deepen your technical competence, and actively contribute to the development of technical service at I 21. You will be part of an experienced team where quality, collaboration, and professionalism are key principles.
The work is varied, independent, and offers good opportunities to grow in the role as a specialist in one of our focus areas: wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, weapons, optics, UAVs, or communications.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Approved SOU with a technical focus
- Driving license B (manual transmission)
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
- Good computer skills, including the Office suite
Desirable
- Experience with PRIO and LIFT
- Driving license C
- Experience in technical service at squadron/company/battalion/technical department.
- Experience in the material areas present within the garrison, e.g., wheeled vehicles, tracked vehicles, weapons, optics, UAVs, or communications.

In 2022, the Västernorrland Regiment was re-established with the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, I 21. A new regiment with centuries-old traditions in Västernorrland and Jämtland. With us, you have the opportunity to be part of something unique, the re-establishment of a regiment in Lower Norrland.
I 21 currently has operations in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand and is responsible for the Garrison Lower Norrland. In Sollefteå, there is the Regiment Staff (with personnel in both Sollefteå and Östersund) and the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion. In Östersund, there is the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps. Additionally, there are Garrison Support Units, Defense Health, and Logistics Units operating in Sollefteå, Östersund, and Härnösand.
At the Ångermanland Infantry Battalion and the Jämtland Field Ranger Corps, we train conscript soldiers for service in the new modern infantry under our proud motto “From mountains to sea, for the defense of Lower Norrland.”
