Paramedic Needed for Vital Work

Do you want a varied job where your skills are utilized and challenged? Are you a paramedic or a specialist nurse with another suitable specialist education such as anesthesia, emergency care, or ICU? Apply for a vital job in the ambulance service!

Together with an ambulance care provider or nurse, you provide the best possible care and response in the patient's home, at an accident or injury site, and during transport to a healthcare facility.

You meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury. At an accident site, you often collaborate with police, rescue services, and emergency physicians, and you take turns driving the ambulance safely.

As a specialist nurse, you are medically responsible in the ambulance. You make medical priorities and decide on nursing and medical measures based on care needs and refer to the right level of care. Your skills are utilized and challenged at every alarm as you are often the first on the scene, and your intervention can be crucial for the patient.

You are based at and part of an ambulance station. Our ambulance stations are located throughout Greater Stockholm. If necessary, you may also work at other stations during your employment.

We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and can take responsibility, as well as having good judgment when making small and large decisions as the work is independent. As no assignment is like another, you need to quickly adapt to changing working conditions and pace, while maintaining your calm in dealing with patients and relatives. Being good at collaborating and being able to work with different colleagues, treating patients, relatives, and partners in a respectful and trustworthy manner is a given for you and something you excel at.

Qualifications

  • Specialist nurse with a focus on ambulance care or specialist nurse with another suitable focus, such as anesthesia, emergency care, or ICU, with at least 2 years of experience in ambulance or emergency care
  • At least a B driver's license and good driving experience in urban traffic. C1 is an advantage
  • Since heavy lifting of patients occurs, it is also important that you have good physical condition
  • Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written. Other languages are an advantage

About the Ambulance Care Administration

The Ambulance Care Administration is responsible for ambulance care in the Stockholm Region and performs both emergency assignments via 112 and specialized care assignments such as intensive care ambulances and psychiatric ambulances. We provide care where people are and during transport, in close collaboration with other healthcare actors. Through education, research, and continuous development, we contribute to a safe and modern ambulance care throughout the region.
