Do you want to be part of an organization that makes a difference for children and adolescents? BUP Inpatient Care Unit 1 is now looking for two healthcare assistants for day and evening shifts.

The unit is located in a beautiful environment on Sachsgatan in Södermalm, behind Södersjukhuset.

BUP Stockholm's inpatient care consists of three wards and an emergency unit. The units provide care to children and adolescents up to 17 years old with complex psychiatric conditions, who require a period of intensified care. The care is conducted according to HSL and LPT and is characterized by a holistic approach where psychiatric, psychological, and social factors are significant for diagnosis and treatment.

Inpatient Care Unit 1 is a well-functioning department where both patients and staff thrive. We work together for the best interests of the patients and to collectively create a pleasant and positive workplace. We place great emphasis on continuously developing our working methods and adapting care to the needs of the patients. In Unit 1, patients with severe eating disorder issues are primarily cared for.

We now want to expand our stable and competent staff group and are looking for two healthcare assistants who can contribute to providing our patients with the best possible care.

Job Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant, you will be with the patients throughout their stay with us. Your role is important for the patients' improved well-being. You will participate with nurses and doctors in patient conversations and rounds, as well as initiate and carry out activities with the patients, both indoors and outdoors. Standard nursing measures and practical tasks, such as meal support and tube feeding, are of course included.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a diploma from a healthcare assistant program, a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare for a protected professional title, and work experience in psychiatric inpatient care. Applications without diplomas and professional certificates will not be considered.

Experience in child and adolescent psychiatric inpatient care and/or care of eating disorder patients is an advantage.

Employment Type

The positions are permanent full-time employment. Start date as soon as possible, according to agreement. A probationary period may be applied.

About Us

BUP Inpatient Care Unit 1 is part of BUP Stockholm. The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Stockholm (BUP) offers specialized psychiatric care for children and adolescents under 18 years old within Stockholm County. We are part of the Stockholm County Healthcare Area, which is a healthcare provider within Region Stockholm. Together, we have over 1,200 employees who meet over 22,000 children, adolescents, and their families each year.

The position will be filled on the condition that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:

  • background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to a Swedish professional license, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed staff with patient contact.
