Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad (CSK) is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Here, emergency care is provided around the clock by qualified and dedicated staff. CSK has the resources of a large hospital combined with the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. The hospital offers residents in the catchment area care with short waiting times across all specialties. We have about 2,600 employees.

Within our operations, we have a urology clinic, and our patients are located in the urology and vascular surgery department, which organizationally belongs to the surgical unit. Our modern and well-equipped clinic has nearly 10,000 patient contacts per year, and the forecast is increasing. The ward has twelve beds for urological surgery, tailored for patients being treated for urological diseases.

The urology unit conducts both planned and emergency surgery, and the clinic employs nearly 40 competent and dedicated staff. We have a fully equipped clinic and conduct a complete urological operation, including robot-assisted surgery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a nurse in our clinic, you will follow the patient throughout the care process, from investigation and treatment to rehabilitation. You will plan and attend diagnosis meetings and new patient visits, followed by follow-up conversations to ensure that the patient understands the information. Furthermore, you will participate in multidisciplinary conferences and in developing individual care plans together with the patient and other team members. The role also includes having your own clinic work, which consists of complicated catheter changes, flow measurements, and bladder instillations.

A typical workweek also includes some administrative tasks, telephone advice, and ensuring active handovers to other care providers. You also have knowledge of national care programs and quality registers. With us, there are good development opportunities in several exciting areas such as urotherapy, cystoscopy, and cystometry.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare and have a few years of experience in the role. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale are required. We consider it an advantage if you have previously worked in a surgical environment and/or have experience working with cancer patients. It is also beneficial if you are a urotherapist or have a genuine interest in urology.

The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, appreciate making your own decisions, and enjoy working both independently and in a team. You are good at planning and organizing work in advance while having the ability to prioritize when an acute situation arises. Furthermore, you are meticulous in your nursing role and care about taking care of patients based on their different needs. It is important that you can see relationships in their proper perspective and maintain a professional attitude when meeting patients and their relatives. As a person, you are stable and have good self-awareness.
