About us

As a project manager in exploitation, you will be part of a team with lead project managers within the land and exploitation unit. The unit is part of the department of community planning and exploitation, which is part of the office for community building. The land and exploitation unit has a total of 19 positions with mixed competencies in the field of land and exploitation such as project managers, exploitation engineers, project managers, and land managers.

The unit mainly consists of an exploitation and implementation function as well as a property owner function. Employees participate in the municipality's work with community building and work in close collaboration with other units in the office.

About the position

As a lead project manager in exploitation, you will work in a leading role together with others in the organization. The work is based on legal, economic, and technical perspectives. The role involves responsibility for:

• Leading and organizing projects in both the planning and implementation phases
• Ensuring the progress of projects based on time, cost, and quality
• Collaborating with colleagues within the project and the office for community building
• Preparing and presenting cases for political decisions
• Representing Upplands Väsby municipality as a landowner where negotiation and relationship-building are important parts
• Being a representative for the municipality towards the public, business community, and various market actors

We believe in responsible and strong leadership, good communication, and clear structures. You prioritize and delegate to other members within the project and report regularly to the steering group and to the head of the land and exploitation unit.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for you who have:

• University education with a focus on land surveying, road and water, community building, or another equivalent
• At least four years of experience in project management within exploitation and/or urban development
• Knowledge and experience in relevant legislation and practices, such as the Planning and Building Act, Environmental Code, and Property Formation Act
• Good knowledge of Swedish

It is an advantage if you have experience working in a politically governed organization.
