Authority Department

The Authority Department, with just over 60 employees, works with case management according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons.

We are also responsible for fee processing, housing adaptation grants, and support for relatives. We investigate, decide, and follow up on services for individuals who, due to age or disability, need support and care. We have an important mission that makes a difference for others.

Your Responsibilities

As a social welfare officer, you will handle cases according to applicable legislation. You will also base your work on guidelines, practices, and current routines to investigate needs and make decisions in a legally secure manner. In the unit, we investigate with the support of the IBIC method, focusing on the individual's needs. The role includes collaborating with other authorities and partners. The work requires great sensitivity to the individual's needs. You are responsible for coordinating investigation meetings both physically and digitally.

We are currently looking for a social welfare officer who can function as a liaison between both the reception unit and the case management unit. This means that you do not belong to a specific workgroup, but your task is to contribute and strengthen the workgroup that has the greatest need. You will work closely with the lead officers of the units. In this role, you will handle cases according to applicable legislation, and you will also work to some extent with expedited case processing related to discharges from inpatient and round-the-clock care.

Who Are You?

You have a degree in social work or another higher education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have a B driver's license.

You have experience in case management and authority exercise; it is an advantage if you have experience working with the elderly, have worked in the operational system Treserva, and/or have worked according to the IBIC method.

We are looking for a person with high personal maturity who takes initiative and works independently with a structured and responsible approach. You are flexible and adaptable in a changing environment and have good collaboration skills, contributing to a professional and respectful work climate. Furthermore, you are decisive and confident in making well-founded decisions when the situation requires it. We value commitment, accountability, and the ability to drive work forward with quality and judgment.

About the Social Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we in the social administration work with social interventions such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation include social services, home care, elderly care, and care for persons with disabilities throughout Gotland. Around the clock, we meet people of all ages and with various needs; children, families, adults, and the elderly. Together, we enable good conditions for care, support, and service throughout life.
