Social Psychiatric Team Seeking Assistance Officer
In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.
Reception Unit
The Authority Department, with just over 60 employees, works with case management according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons.
We are also responsible for fee management, housing adaptation grants, and support for relatives. We investigate, decide, and follow up on interventions for individuals who, due to age or disability, need support and care. We have an important mission that makes a difference for others.
The Reception Unit consists of 17 employees organized into four teams: the Reception Team, the Social Psychiatry Team, the Fee and Economics Team, and the Housing Team, as well as a coordinator for the department's work on violence in close relationships.
We are now looking for a new colleague to join our Social Psychiatry Team. At our workplace, we see diversity as enriching. We offer a pleasant workplace with helpful colleagues nearby. There are opportunities to influence, and you have a high degree of participation in the development of the operations. We also offer an individually tailored introduction program and close leadership. Welcome to become one of us!
Your Responsibilities
As an assistance officer, you will handle cases according to applicable legislation. You will also base your work on guidelines, practices, and current routines to investigate needs and make decisions in a legally secure manner. In the unit, we investigate using the IBIC method, focusing on the individual's needs. The role includes collaborating with other authorities and partners. The work requires great sensitivity to the individual's needs.
As part of our team working with the social psychiatric target group, you will meet individuals who, due to a mental disability, such as a neuropsychiatric diagnosis, need supportive interventions. Examples of support measures that can be offered include home support, employment support, and housing with special assistance. It is an exciting and developing assignment with much happening in the field right now, such as the comorbidity investigation and the new Social Services Act.
It is important that you work according to Region Gotland's values: trust, care, and participation. You will also contribute to a good work environment together with your colleagues and in the change processes that the unit is facing.
Who Are You?
You have a degree in social work or another higher education deemed equivalent by the employer. A B driver's license is required.
You have experience in case management and/or authority exercise; it is an advantage if you have experience with the social psychiatric target group.
You are secure and stable and can adapt your approach to the situation. You are calm but also flexible and structured. You enjoy collaborating and are attentive and communicate clearly. You have an open mind and enjoy thinking creatively with the individual's best interests in focus.
Before a hiring decision is made, a background check will be conducted through an extract from the criminal record.
Selection and interviews will be ongoing during the recruitment process, so do not wait to apply!
