Social Welfare Officer to the Reception Unit

The Reception Unit

The Authority Department, with just over 60 employees, works with case management according to the Social Services Act and the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons.

We are also responsible for fee management, housing adaptation grants, and support for relatives. We investigate, decide, and follow up on interventions for individuals who, due to age or disability, need support and care. We have an important mission that makes a difference for others.

We are now looking for a new colleague to the reception unit within our reception team.

Your Responsibilities

As a social welfare officer, you will handle cases according to applicable legislation. You will also base your work on guidelines, practices, and current routines to investigate needs and make decisions in a legally secure manner. In the unit, we investigate using the IBIC assessment method, with the individual’s needs at the center.

In the reception team, you will work closely with healthcare to enable a safe and secure discharge in collaboration. You will also work closely with the housing adaptation team and other social welfare officers in the department. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for receiving incoming calls that may concern the entire authority department.

It is important that you work according to Region Gotland's values; trust, care, and participation. You will also contribute to a good working environment together with your colleagues and in the change processes that the unit is facing.

Who Are You?

You have a degree in social work or another higher education deemed equivalent by the employer. You have a B driver's license. Experience related to discharge from inpatient and full-day care is considered an asset.

You are a secure and stable person who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy collaborating with others but are also comfortable working independently in a structured manner. You have experience in case management and work within elderly care.
