Job Advertisement: Substitute in Care, Preschool, and Food & Cleaning

We are a municipal staffing department that handles short-term absences of up to 14 days for the social services, preschool and primary school administration, and food & cleaning in the service administration. We are now looking for more employees who want to work in our operations.

We recruit continuously based on the needs of our various operations, which means that we may prioritize certain areas over others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Care and Support:

Your task will be to meet and support children, young people, or adults with disabilities, or elderly individuals who need assistance in their daily lives. You will receive an introduction and training, and you will quickly become part of our community, starting by shadowing an experienced colleague.

Your work will be to be there for someone who needs you, to facilitate and enable things in everyday life that many of us take for granted. You will often help with dressing and undressing, hygiene, and toilet visits. This may involve cooking, cleaning, or shopping together. It may also mean accompanying someone to activities such as movies, swimming, concerts, or sports events. We often laugh together and comfort each other when needed.

You will mostly work in a team, but when you feel secure, there will be moments when you work alone. If you work as a personal assistant, this will apply most of the time.

Preschool and Primary School:

As a substitute paid by the hour in preschool and primary school, you will assist in the educational work and support the children/students and your closest colleagues. The work may include teaching in classes and groups, participating in meal situations, outdoor activities, and other tasks that occur in our operations. Since the work takes place both indoors and outdoors, appropriate clothing for the weather is required.

There is also an opportunity to work in adapted primary schools. Adapted primary schools are for students with intellectual disabilities or cognitive disabilities due to brain injury.

Food and Cleaning:

As a substitute paid by the hour in food and cleaning, you can work as either a meal assistant or a cook. As a meal assistant, you will be responsible for serving and preparing breakfast, lunch, and snacks, conducting self-control for the kitchen, and managing serving and dishwashing. You will also be responsible for cleaning. As a cook, you will be responsible for cooking from scratch, preparing special diets, conducting self-control for the kitchen, and washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS

The staffing department primarily seeks individuals with education in care and support, preschool, leisure, primary school, or in restaurant and food services. It is advantageous if you have completed the care and support program, the child and leisure program, or the restaurant and food program in high school.

You must be at least 18 years old to be employed with us. Some exceptions can be made for students studying in the aforementioned high school programs.

We are looking for individuals with a good attitude, flexibility, initiative, teamwork skills, and a sense of responsibility. Due to the nature of the tasks, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required so that you can communicate verbally and in writing with those you assist, as well as with relatives and colleagues. You need to be able to work with both male and female clients and colleagues.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Experience working within our operations is an advantage.

As the need for substitutes may arise suddenly, you must be able to report to the workplace at short notice. You are expected to be available for work at least three shifts/week, except for those who are retirees and students within our operational areas.

The operations within care and support are largely open every day of the year, around the clock. In preschool and primary school, our operations are open on weekdays from 06:30 AM to 06:30 PM, and it is important that you are available for most of these hours.

A driver's license and access to a car are advantageous. In several of our operations, this is a requirement.

Please attach grades, diploma, preschool teacher certification and/or teacher certification, and if applicable, a certificate for nursing assistant title in your application.

As an employee of the staffing department, you must present a criminal record extract before employment can be established. When you present your extract from the criminal record, you must also bring valid identification.

Before a potential employment, we will check citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must be able to present a valid residence/work permit or prove that you are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
