Orthopedic patients have varying lengths of stay, ranging from one day to several weeks. The patient is at the center, and care is person-centered.

About the Orthopedic Department

Sahlgrenska University Hospital is the largest provider of orthopedic care in the country, with around 500 employees. We provide county and regional hospital care and also have several national assignments. Within the orthopedic department, we work to treat, care for, and rehabilitate patients with injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. We perform both urgent and planned surgeries and treatments. We receive and treat patients from all over Sweden in specialized areas such as foot, spine, prosthetic, and arthroscopic surgery.

We strive to provide good care of high quality and conduct high-quality research, development, and education. Our operations are primarily based at Mölndal Hospital but also exist at Drottning Silvia's Children's and Adolescent Hospital and Sahlgrenska Hospital. The orthopedics at SU has a long tradition of research and is internationally prominent in several clinical areas such as tendon injuries, prosthetic surgery, and degenerative spinal diseases.

Our wards at Mölndal Hospital are highly specialized departments for acute and planned orthopedic care.

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in orthopedics and/or emergency care. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will be part of the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. In addition, it also includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruitment of nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualifications/specialist certificates.
