Business Controller Wanted

We are now looking for a business controller who wants to take an active role in developing and strengthening our operations.

With us, you will work centrally, in close collaboration with managers, highlighting financial aspects and producing analyses that form the basis for strategic decisions. The role gives you both space for independent work and the opportunity to be a key player alongside the management team.

Habilitation & Health provides support and treatment to children and adults with disabilities. We also provide support to relatives. We have 30 specialist clinics and are part of the Stockholm County healthcare area in Region Stockholm. Habilitation & Health operates on behalf of the politicians in the Health and Medical Care Committee in Region Stockholm.

Our mission is to provide:

  • habilitation interventions for children and adults with autism, deafblindness, intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injury, and movement disabilities
  • psychosocial and educational support to deaf and hard-of-hearing adults who use sign language
  • advice and education for children with ADHD and their parents
  • support for relatives
  • dissemination of knowledge about disabilities, their consequences, and societal support.

Job Responsibilities

As a business controller, you are an important part of the clinic. You will play a key role in driving economic and quality work in accordance with the clinic's goals. You will independently and in groups work on reports and proposals for measures that are presented to management.

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Leading and driving work with budgets, forecasts, financial statements, and follow-ups.
  • Making financial calculations and analyses
  • Supporting managers in monthly follow-ups and budget work
  • Leading systematic quality work
  • Ensuring compliance with our ISO standards (ISO 9001, occupational health certified according to ISO 45001, and environmentally certified according to ISO 1400)
  • Developing activity plans, preparing quality financial statements and interim reports
  • Reporting goals and assignments in our operational follow-up system Stratsys
  • Being part of and assisting in internal and external audits

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant higher education degree in economics.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a controller role, with documented experience in forecasts, follow-ups, and compiling financial outcomes and forecasts
  • Good knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping, financial statements, and budget work
  • Very good knowledge of Excel and experience working in financial systems
  • Well-developed communication skills, both verbally and in writing in Swedish.
  • Experience supporting managers in their leadership work and working closely with managers at different levels
  • Experience in systematic quality development, management and governance, as well as analysis and investigation work
  • Interest in development and change work, and experience independently producing relevant documentation, statistics, reporting, budgets, and forecasts
  • Experience from public sector operations is an advantage

Employment Type

Permanent, full-time Mon-Fri 39.5 hours/week.

  • background checks are applied before employment decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to applicable directives, which is done through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-certified staff with patient contact.
