Job Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist, you are an important part of the interdisciplinary team where you contribute with the occupational therapy perspective in rehabilitation efforts.

The job responsibilities include assessment, evaluation, and treatment interventions for patients with physical, intellectual, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. You will also provide information and advice to the patient's network. You will follow the patients over a longer period and have the opportunity to see their development in different environments such as home and school.

The tasks are varied, and you have great freedom to plan and manage your day.

You will collaborate closely with other team members and other occupational therapists at the workplace and will be offered both professional and team supervision.

About the Workplace

The Rehabilitation in Falkenberg-Varberg is one of three departments in Halland that provides rehabilitative services to children, youth, and adults with various forms of disabilities. The department is divided into three teams, two of which work with children up to 18 years and one with adults from 18 years. The department has a wealth of experience and a desire for continuous development to meet the needs of patients in the best way.

Currently, we are looking for an occupational therapist for the children's team in Falkenberg, but there may be needs in the Varberg team in the future. The placement location can be discussed as we are facing a change that will allow us to gather the entire staff group in Varberg.

The children's team in Falkenberg consists of various professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, special educators, speech therapists, doctors, dietitians, and medical secretaries. We are a team that is secure with each other, helps each other, and has fun together. We have nice facilities right by Ätran in Falkenberg, with good connections for those commuting by train or bus.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed occupational therapist with a B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as an occupational therapist and experience in rehabilitation or working with people with disabilities.

As a person, you have a pedagogical approach and the ability to communicate clearly so that the information reaches the recipient. You are structured, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You are open to changes and new ideas that contribute to the development of the organization, and you are happy to share your knowledge. You also have a good understanding of how background, culture, and group affiliation affect individuals and situations, which allows you to empathize with others' perspectives. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
