Your Next Challenge
We are looking for someone who wants to take on a responsible and central role as a Shift Engineer. During your shift, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring effective communication between different departments and optimizing operations, with the aim of achieving maximized production and quality levels.
In this role, you will lead and coordinate the work during your shift, focusing on creating a safe and efficient work environment by ensuring that instructions and routines are followed. You and your team of process operators are responsible for optimizing and managing deviations during the shift, as well as handling and troubleshooting urgent situations. If necessary, you will call in standby and coordinate resources and timelines to restore production.
The role requires you to analyze and handle complex situations and to act quickly and effectively when needed. You need to work in a structured manner to ensure that the operations develop successfully and with long-term sustainability in focus. You are also responsible for working proactively.
Who Are You?
We are looking for someone with good leadership skills and a well-developed communication ability, which is key to ensuring smooth collaboration between different departments. Through your engaging work approach, you inspire and lead shifts towards common goals.
You have the ability to handle an operational role with flexibility and adapt to new situations. Acting independently motivates you, and you ensure that work progresses through coordination and decision-making. You are confident in independently prioritizing and making decisions, even in challenging situations.
Your planning ability allows you to balance details here and now while maintaining a clear overall perspective and looking ahead. The role involves finding effective solutions to unexpected situations and ensuring that operations are run in a structured and successful manner.
To fit into the role, we see that you:
- Have a high school diploma in Natural Sciences or Engineering, or similar.
- Have experience from the process industry.
- Master Swedish and English as the languages are used in daily work.
- Have a B driver's license.
It is meritorious if you have a post-secondary education and work experience from a similar role. Our core values – responsibility, excellence, and respect – are the foundation of everything we do at SCA. Therefore, it is important that your values align with them.
What Do We Offer You?
With us, you have great opportunities to grow and develop. We encourage competence development, taking responsibility, and realizing your ideas. At SCA, we care for each other, and we offer an open, supportive work climate. We also understand the importance of a sustainable work life.
As an employee with us, you will work with the very latest technology and be part of the transition to a sustainable society. Our forests and the products we put on the market contribute with a climate benefit greater than the emissions from all passenger cars in Sweden for a year. We make use of every part of the trees we harvest and produce products from the forest that help combat climate change. Making a real difference gives the work an extra dimension.
The role is full-time and permanent, located at SCA in Obbola. Start date according to agreement.
