The Role of Nursing Assistant/Care Assistant

Urology is a broad field that ranges from infections to various cancer diagnoses. In the role of nursing assistant/care assistant, you will work with patients who come to us via our emergency flow and those who come for planned surgeries, which involves both pre- and postoperative work.

You will work with care and healthcare interventions for our patients with various urological issues and care needs. We want the patient to be involved in their care, which means that communication is a very important part of your work. We work in teams with different professions and together with other employees, you work for good collaboration within the clinic and with other partners.

For the summer of 2026, we are looking for summer substitutes as nursing assistants/care assistants who can work weeks 26-34. It is a great advantage if you can work all the weeks. Introduction will take place in addition to these weeks.

The employment is a fixed-term full-time position with working hours that vary between day, evening, and weekend. During the summer, you will work every other weekend.

At the urology clinic's care department at Ryhov County Hospital, there are 16 care places on weekdays and 13 care places on weekends, and we have an average length of stay of under three days. Here you will have the opportunity to dive into our specialty and gain insight into urology and urological care, a field within surgery that is developing rapidly.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant. Another option is that you are studying to become a nurse or doctor, and in that case, we would like you to have completed your third semester, but individual assessment can be made earlier.

If you already have a verbal agreement regarding summer substitute work with a manager in our operation, you should indicate that person's name and clinic in your application.

Since nursing assistant has been a protected professional title since July 1, 2023, you will need to indicate in your application if you have a certificate for the protected professional title. If you have a permanent position as a nursing assistant today and do not have a certificate for the protected professional title, we ask you to attach a certificate of your permanent position in your application to continue to retain the title of nursing assistant.
