The Role of the Nurse

Are you – or will you be before the summer of 2026 – a licensed nurse who enjoys fast workflows, great colleagues, and short decision-making paths? Then the Urology Department is the workplace for you.

With us, you will have an exciting and varied summer job. Urology is a broad field that ranges from infections to various cancer diagnoses. The Urology Clinic always strives to be at the forefront, and well-informed patients and the use of modern surgical techniques contribute to short hospital stays and a dynamic workplace. As a nurse in the Urology Department, you will have a job where you develop within Sweden's most important profession. We are looking for someone who is interested in urology and wants to work in an exciting environment where a lot is happening. You thrive on working flexibly and closely with patients and colleagues in a good community where the value is that we learn from each other. With your skills and commitment, you collaborate, solve problems, and create added value for our patients. You will work with care and healthcare interventions for our patients with various urological issues and care needs, who come to us via our emergency flow or those with planned surgeries, which involves both pre- and postoperative work.

We want the patient to be involved in their care, which means that communication is a very important part of your work. We work in teams with different professions, and together with other staff, you work for good collaboration within the clinic and with other partners. Before the summer of 2026, we are looking for summer substitute nurses who can work weeks 26-34. It is a great advantage if you can work all these weeks. Introduction will take place in addition to these weeks.

The employment is a fixed-term full-time position with working hours that vary between day, evening, and weekend. During the summer, you will work every other weekend.

Your Future Workplace

At the Urology Clinic's care department at Ryhov County Hospital, there are 16 care places on weekdays and 13 care places on weekends, and we have an average length of stay of under three days. Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse or who will graduate as a nurse no later than June 2026.

At the Urology Department, you need to be comfortable taking responsibility and have an inner drive that moves things forward.
