The hospitals in the west are an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consist of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälvs Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

Hello!

We are now looking for you who want to work with us this summer! We are the orthopedic and surgical department at Kungälvs Hospital, located in our beautiful premises on the second floor.

About us

Almost 5 years ago, we moved into one of Sweden's most modern hospital ward buildings. The department has 28 beds, where all patients have their own room including a bathroom. The environment is fresh and easy to work in. The department focuses on broad orthopedic and surgical care, both acute and planned. We care for patients with acute conditions after trauma, accidents, and illness. Patients with infections and pain issues are also treated in the department.

Our goal is to continuously develop and improve our operations and to always strive to become even better when it comes to patient safety, patient satisfaction, and work environment.

We care about having a good working climate, a safe environment, and close collaboration during both good and less good days. Your future colleagues are a wonderful group who are caring towards patients, relatives, and each other - together we make the department a place where everyone can thrive.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant and have an interest in working in emergency care. It is an advantage if you have experience in orthopedic and/or surgical care.

If you are a student in the nursing program, you need to have completed semester 3 or semester 4 depending on your educational program.

If you are a student in the medical program, you need to have completed semester 5 or semester 6 depending on your educational program.

Who are we looking for?

You enjoy challenges, have the ability to make quick decisions, and can handle acute situations calmly and methodically. For you, good teamwork, joy in working in a group, and a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues are a given. It is also important that you can work independently.

Working in a ward is teamwork, and we therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability. We hope that you want to become our new colleague this summer!

Protected professional title for nursing assistants

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social care.
