Samariterhemmet Health Center

Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We offer a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice over the phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we tailor our services based on the needs of the residents. We already offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.

Welcome to Samariterhemmet Health Center! We offer two permanent full-time positions starting as soon as possible or by agreement.

We invest in secure employment and good benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/). In addition to your individual development plan, we also have regular training days for professional development. This allows you to be part of a large network with knowledgeable colleagues.

Your mission

Your tasks will consist of assessment, treatment, follow-up, and training of patients with symptoms, diseases, and injuries in the musculoskeletal system, as well as various stress and tension-related conditions. Teamwork and group treatment are also included, as well as working with other staff to continuously develop the operations. You will have independent responsibility for assessment and treatment, where the choice of measures should be based on available evidence and existing guidelines.

Your competence

We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist/physical therapist, and you should preferably have previous experience in primary care and/or treatment and assessment of a wide range of patients, including those with chronic pain issues. It is important to meet the patient from a holistic perspective and to view the patient's challenges from a biopsychosocial perspective, as several lifestyle factors often affect the patient's health status. Training in Behavioral Medicine, MDT, OMT, BK/Relaxation/Mindfulness, etc., is considered an asset. You need to understand the importance of good patient flows at the health center. The work requires good collaboration skills and a willingness to work in a team with other professionals, as well as the ability to work independently.

As a person

As a person, you are clear in your communication and structured in your approach. You enjoy thinking innovatively that can also be implemented in practice. You have good pedagogical skills and can easily establish contact with both patients and colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Our operations

Samariterhemmet Health Center is located in the heart of Uppsala, just a stone's throw from the Travel Center. Our health center is a large operation with over 14,000 registered patients. Together, we are over 80 employees, and all professional areas within the health center's mission are represented. The wide variety of patients creates a developing workplace. In the autumn of 2018, Samariterhemmet Health Center was selected to be one of two academic health centers in Region Uppsala. This means even better opportunities to conduct research, improvement work, and education. To support this, we have a newly established academic primary care center. We have previously distinguished ourselves, including being named the best health center for clinical placements of students in the medical program.
