The Helicopter Wing is a unit that is constantly evolving, and you will be a key person in creating the conditions for the department to conduct its operations and ensure that our workplace functions.

About the unit

You will be placed at A4 in the Helicopter Wing's staff at Malmen. A4 functions lead and support in the logistics area regarding supply provision, technical services, transport services, defense medicine, infrastructure, and external environment. At A4, you will be part of the medical function led by the staff physician.

Main tasks

In the role of training nurse, you will be an active part of developing the Air Force's medical capability. This role includes planning and conducting medical training for conscripts and employed personnel, as well as working with the staff physician to create conditions for long-term planning and follow-up of both personnel and equipment, as well as the defense medical operations as a whole. This includes leading, planning, and developing the (temporarily serving) licensed personnel. The role also involves planning and participating in exercises both nationally and internationally with other branches of defense, civilian medical resources, and civilian authorities.

Qualifications

  • Licensed nurse with several years of experience in pre-hospital care
  • Training or experience in teaching others
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish and English
  • Driving license B (manual)

Meritorious

  • Completed military service, basic soldier training, or officer/reserve officer training
  • Experience from international service
  • Trained medical instructor (or equivalent)
  • Trained in A-CPR
  • Previous experience in similar positions in civil or military organizations (training, leadership, preparedness, and development)

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is curious, structured, and solution-oriented. You are confident in your professional role, enjoy working independently, and have good collaboration skills in interdisciplinary teams. You have a long-term commitment and a strong interest in total defense issues.

The Armed Forces' Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and sea operational orientation that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.

Helicopter support is requested by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance missions. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.

Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide variation in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airport and Linköping Garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
