The Värmland police area is divided into four local police areas: Arvika, Karlstad, Kristinehamn, and Torsby. At the police area level, there is also an investigation section and an office. Within the local police area of Karlstad, there are intervention and crime prevention activities, investigation groups, as well as support and service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a service man, you primarily work with internal service and janitorial tasks. Common tasks include:
- Basic property maintenance (e.g., changing light sources, minor repairs, reporting faults)
- Moving and assembling furniture
- Purchasing office supplies and consumables
- Invoice management
- Maintenance of central storage
- Mail and goods handling
- Collection and destruction of various waste fractions.
You may also need to step in and assist a colleague with, for example:
- Basic vehicle maintenance/care (e.g., changing light bulbs, washing, cleaning, minor repairs)
- Transporting vehicles to workshops/vehicle inspections
Since there are police facilities in several locations within the local police area, the work will involve traveling between locations and performing tasks as needed. The work is mostly practical within the various areas but also includes administrative tasks. Work occurs in all police facilities, offices, and storage. It is a physically demanding job where you are active for most of your workday.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- A high school diploma or what the employer assesses as equivalent
- A valid driver's license for manual transmission vehicles
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good experience using a computer as a work tool and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new systems
- Experience working with internal service in recent times that the employer assesses as relevant
It is advantageous if you also have:
- Additional driver's license categories beyond B category
- Experience placing orders
- Experience in property maintenance
- Work experience in basic vehicle maintenance
