Your Responsibilities

You will work in a research laboratory focusing on molecular genetics and neural circuits related to pain and somatosensation.

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will primarily conduct research. Teaching may also be included in your responsibilities, but no more than one-fifth of your working time.

Your Qualifications

To be eligible for the position of postdoctoral researcher, you must have obtained a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. Your degree must have been awarded by the time the employment decision is made.

A requirement is also that you master electrophysiological measurements on single cells as well as high-capacity calcium imaging using genetically encoded calcium indicators (GECI). Additionally, experience with behavioral experiments to study somatosensation in mice, maintenance of mouse colonies, and upkeep of transgenic mouse colonies is required.

It is particularly advantageous if you also have experience in quantitative analysis of physiological data, work with natural products, and knowledge of neuro-immunological interactions.

You are expected to be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.

Your Workplace

You will be employed in Marcin Szczot's research group at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN), Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences.

The Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV) is one of the largest departments at the university, primarily operating within the medical faculty. Our goal is to conduct education and research in medicine and biomedicine with high international quality. At BKV, you will find leading research with both depth and breadth across a wide spectrum of modern biomedicine.
