Are you a specialist within family medicine looking for a meaningful GP role in a well-organised healthcare setting?

On behalf of a municipality in Finnmark, Northern Norway, we are seeking a GP for a permanent position. This opportunity is ideal for family medicine specialists wanting a stable and rewarding role in Norway, with strong professional support, clinical variety and room for long-term development.

About the position and the GP practice

You will join a modern, well-run medical practice with experienced support staff and a clear focus on quality and continuity. The clinic is equipped to handle a broad spectrum of primary care tasks, and you will work with an established patient list covering both acute and long-term needs.

As a GP, your clinical work will range from acute care and minor procedures to chronic disease management, follow-up of elderly patients, children and families. You will work independently while still being part of a supportive, accessible professional environment.

The out-of-hours service is inter-municipal, with 24-hour nursing coverage and a well-structured GP rota, ensuring both safety and predictability in emergency situations.

Working environment

Professional requirements

  • Medical license and specialist approval from an EU country.
  • Specialist in family medicine, preferably with minimum two years of experience.
  • Good communication skills in English, and motivated to learn Norwegian.
  • Experience in pediatric medicine and infant check-ups.
  • Experience in gynecological examinations in an office setting.
  • Skilled in minor surgical procedures.
  • Ability to handle a broad variety of patients and diagnoses independently.
  • Class B driver’s license.
  • A clean criminal record must be documented through a police certificate in accordance with the Health Personnel Act.
