About Laholm Municipality
It is in the meeting with our residents that the value of our work arises! As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you contribute to delivering services and support to our residents – every day, all year round. Laholm Municipality encompasses everything from care, support, and education for our residents to infrastructure, maintenance, cultural life, and growth. We believe that every employee has the drive and ability to improve operations and a desire to develop in their profession.
As an employee of Laholm Municipality, you have colleagues with many different professions and backgrounds, but what unites us is our mission and our shared values with the guiding words joy, courage, participation, commitment, and good example.
Community Building, Culture, and Public Health Administration (SKF)
is one of the country's broadest and most diversified administrations and includes seven units (Rescue Service, Environmental Unit, Planning and Building Unit, Technical Unit, Meal Unit, Culture Unit, and Recreation Unit) as well as an Administrative Staff. Our goal is to be a forward-leaning, change-oriented, and service-oriented administration that is held together by our common development work and our striving to enhance each other in our respective professions. At SKF, we work at a fast pace with the broadest palette of municipal tasks, which requires our employees to look beyond their respective operations to contribute to a whole within the administration. In our operations, we respond to three political committees: the Community Building Committee, the Culture & Public Health Committee, and the Conflict of Interest Committee.
Description
The Drawing Museum is the only museum for drawing art in the Nordic region.
We are a municipal museum and showcase exhibitions by both Nordic and international artists, as well as works from our own collection. The museum's ambition is to highlight drawing as an art form and to be a forum for both new trends and historical reflections. We have a comprehensive public program and also offer workshops, lectures, concerts, and educational activities for schools.
On the museum's lower floor, we have a well-visited, open drawing studio. There is also the Laholm Ceramic Museum, which houses a permanent exhibition of Laholm ceramics from the 20th century, as well as temporary ceramic exhibitions.
In the building, there is also Laholm's tourist office and our museum shop with drawing materials, various books, and the museum's café. The tourist office shares the building with us, and we have a very close collaboration. At the museum, we have 5 employees plus our communicator and the tourist office staff. In total, about 8 people work in the building.
Job Responsibilities
The work primarily involves being a host in the studio and guiding and inspiring visitors of all ages in drawing based on the exercises and materials prepared for the current exhibition. You need to prepare in the studio before opening and tidy up after closing.
This also means being part of the staffing of the building, and it may be necessary to help in the café, assist in the reception, answer questions, or perform other tasks related to the museum's and building's operations.
The work is suitable as a part-time job, for example, alongside studies.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is interested in aesthetic creation with a focus on drawing and painting, and who enjoys sharing their interest.
It is an advantage if you have some education in the field of visual arts, perhaps at the folk high school level or even started studies at the university level. The work is suitable as a part-time job alongside studies.
As a person, you are outgoing, helpful, and good at conveying your knowledge. It is an advantage if you have experience in outreach work, such as some pedagogical work or customer service.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Conditions
Start date from January 2026. The employment is a part-time position as needed. The work primarily takes place on weekends and sometimes during school holidays. The museum is open every day of the week. On Saturdays and Sundays, it is open from 12 PM to 4 PM.
Applications will be processed continuously during the application period. Welcome to apply!
