Together we work in a variety of professions and activities that all build our future Växjö. And now we need your help to work for a good day – every day.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Scensommar is Växjö Municipality's major summer initiative that runs from June to August. During the summer weeks, we offer a wide program for both young and old, all under the open sky and with free admission. The program challenges, surprises, and inspires the audience and spans from the unique and unexpected to the broad and popular. Everything from theater, dance, and new circus to concerts; jazz, classical, pop, and much, much more is presented in various locations throughout Kronoberg.
We are now looking for several employees to contribute to the 2026 edition of Scensommar, both as coordinators and summer hosts.
Scensommar is normally staffed by two coordinators and a number of summer hosts depending on needs. In addition, the operation is led by a project manager from the Culture and Leisure Administration who has overall responsibility.
Everyone working with Scensommar is the project's face to artists and the audience. The work is varied with a fast pace, many experiences, and meetings. The tasks include practical duties on-site before, during, and after our events and related administration. Working with Scensommar can at times be physically demanding. Everyone in the team contributes to the success that Scensommar has been over the years.
As a coordinator, you will participate to some extent in the planning work, contact with production and associations beforehand, and hold together the actual implementation together with the hosts.
As a summer host, you will meet all participants and visitors. Summer hosts are responsible for all materials and event safety by being visible and active hosts on-site.
The entire team actively works with our social media, documents performances, and participates in post-event work and evaluation.
Scensommar runs for 7-8 weeks from June to August. For coordinators, there may be work both before and after this period.
Additional tasks within the culture department may occur. Events take place both during the day and evening, as well as on weekdays and weekends.
