The City Environment Administration has a comprehensive responsibility for the city's public spaces and overall accessibility.

We work to create accessible, attractive, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas. The administration owns and manages the tram network in Gothenburg. Approximately 900 people work in the administration.

The City Environment Administration is part of the urban development administrations in Gothenburg City. Job Responsibilities

Do you want to help develop attractive, safe, and vibrant urban environments and natural areas with great and competent colleagues? Then we have a seasonal job for you!

As a seasonal employee, you will be visible in the city, and many visitors in Gothenburg may turn to you with tourist-related questions. This means you will be the face of the City Environment Administration and Gothenburg City while you work.

The City Environment Administration is now looking for street cleaners who will work with waste management and weed control in the city's squares, stops, parks, playgrounds, and recycling stations. The work contributes to a pleasant environment for the city's residents, visitors, and businesses. Tasks with handheld machines, such as trimmers, will occur. There are both ongoing rounds with emptying trash bins and picking up litter, cleaning around recycling stations, as well as cleaning during the many summer events in the city. The work is performed in central Gothenburg and surrounding areas, and you will use a larger vehicle. You will have a map to help you find destinations.

The summer season starts in March and ends in September. Start and end dates may vary. You will work either during the day or in the evening. You will follow a schedule, and weekend work is included in the position.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Completed high school education with full grades or equivalent experience.
• Category B driver's license (meriting if you also have BE and C licenses).
• Good driving experience and is comfortable driving vehicles in both central Gothenburg and tight spaces.
• Good physical ability as the position involves heavier tasks, even in hilly terrain.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience with handheld machines, such as trimmers or pressure washers. We also consider previous experience from similar positions as an advantage. A requirement for the position is that you master the Swedish language fluently, both orally and in writing. You also need to be able to handle digital channels as you will use various apps and digital communication channels.

To succeed in the position, you need to be meticulous, have good teamwork skills, and be independent as you will be responsible for your tasks. You should have a good attitude and be concerned that Gothenburgers, visitors, and businesses have a pleasant experience.
