Your role with us

With us, you will work independently on interesting and socially important projects, while having support from project manager colleagues and other employees in the water and sewage department.

As a project manager within the water and sewage department, you will drive and implement investment and renovation projects at the department's waterworks, treatment plants, and pumping stations. Projects related to pipeline networks may also occur. Your work directly contributes to two fundamental functions in a well-functioning society: ensuring access to healthy drinking water and protecting the environment through the diversion and treatment of wastewater.

Your role includes planning time, resources, and budget for your projects, as well as preparing documentation for procurement and service and equipment orders. You ensure that the projects comply with applicable laws, environmental requirements, and technical standards. Ongoing communication is also included, as well as reporting project status to relevant stakeholders.

You are responsible for your own projects and lead them from feasibility study to final inspection and project closure according to our project model. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues throughout the water and sewage department, operational staff, and financial managers through all project phases. You have many points of contact both internally and externally, for example with consultants, contractors, authorities, and other departments.

Who are we looking for?

You who are applying have a technical post-secondary education, preferably in water and sewage technology, civil engineering, mechanical or construction engineering. You have several years of experience as a project manager with budget responsibility and are used to acting as a client for contracting and consulting services. You have good knowledge of contracting law and procurement processes, such as AB/ABT. Experience with technical installations within waterworks, treatment plants, or pipeline networks is an advantage.

Of course, you handle IT tools in your daily work and master the Office suite, especially Excel and Word. Experience with project systems such as Antura is an advantage. You also need to have a B driver's license to easily get around the municipality when needed.

To succeed in the role, you are driven and responsible, which means you take initiative and ensure that projects meet set goals. As a person, you are meticulous and structured, and you see it as natural to document and organize information. This also requires that you have an easy time expressing yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. We want you to be collaborative, in other words, you enjoy working in a team and prioritize the project group. Being communicative and having an easy time building good relationships both internally and externally is a prerequisite.

If necessary, the position may be placed in a security class, which means that a security review may be conducted before employment.

Our water and sewage department is part of the Technical Administration, which consists of Construction, Property Technology, Staff, and the Water and Sewage Department. The water and sewage department is further divided into three units: Operations, Pipeline Networks, and Project/Lab. In the project/lab unit, we are 8 employees, who together form a strong group within investments and projects. You will join a group that works closely together on complex projects, where every idea is valued and collaboration is highly appreciated.

The Technical Board is responsible through the Technical Administration for the development, construction, and management of the municipality's public spaces and buildings. The board also has the task of organizing municipal water and sewage supply.
