Job Responsibilities
Gothenburg is growing and changing rapidly.
Few cities have the development potential that exists here. The planning of future Gothenburg is a team effort with many involved, and the property management department plays a central role in this challenge. We actively participate in the transition to a more sustainable society, which is evident in several of our exciting and challenging projects, such as the construction of Sweden's first fossil-free preschool, Hoppet. Together with other departments in the city, we create conditions for a competitive, attractive, and long-term sustainable city.
The property department of the city’s property management is responsible for ensuring the usability of our properties over time with good technical status, sustainability, and satisfied customers. The department is responsible for ordering the implementation of maintenance and investment measures, repairs, and ongoing supervision and management of the management's execution departments. We have a strategic role in the entire technology and sustainability area, and we develop and follow up on technical requirements and guidelines needed in operation and construction, as well as lead and coordinate environmental issues in the management. We actively work towards the goal of becoming a fossil-free management by 2030.
We are now looking for a technical leader. As a technical leader, you will be offered an independent and exciting job where you are an important part of the management's product development. You will work closely with the various departments of the management to drive the work forward.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the technical development of the management's property products from a holistic perspective, in close collaboration with the technical disciplines of the operational area.
- Design and drive technical product strategies based on the tenant's space needs at the lowest possible cost, the management's long-term management assignment, and the city's sustainability goals.
- Coordinate and optimize development efforts between technology, economy, sustainability, customer needs, and market, as well as analyze and develop how different technical solutions interact.
- Develop integration and utilization of digital technology and building information modeling in the operational area's technical development and efficiency work.
- Lead investigations and assignments within the operational area.
Qualifications
For this position, we are looking for someone with a relevant five-year university education, broad and extensive experience from the real estate and construction industry, and a good understanding of what is important for long-term property management. You have a versatile knowledge of different technical areas and how they interact in a property and affect suitability and indoor environment for the tenant, economy from a life cycle perspective, and various sustainability aspects such as energy use and climate impact.
You have the ability to analyze large amounts of information and concretize this into strategies, positions, and courses of action. Equally important is that you have a good ability to collaborate and are attentive, where you can take others' perspectives and capture various needs from tenants to property technicians, project managers, and specialists. You express yourself well in speech and writing and have experience from public property management, with an understanding of assignments and investigations from political governance.
Other
We offer a workplace in development and with a forward-looking attitude. Our employees have broad and varied competencies. We work in pleasant premises and offer employee benefits such as flexible working hours, wellness grants, and cycling benefits. The property management works for a sustainable work life where you can combine an exciting and rewarding work life with a rich life outside of work as well. We offer you a development and innovation climate that provides good opportunities for career development. Within the management, we apply a trust-based leadership that is based on an inclusive workplace.
We strive to have an even distribution between women and men and a spread in terms of age in our management. We want our workplace to be characterized by openness and respect for differences, and we believe that diversity contributes to developing our operations.
As an employee of the City of Gothenburg, you are subject to general service obligations, based on the law on total defense duty.
To those representing staffing and recruitment companies: We kindly but firmly decline offers of advertising and recruitment assistance.
About Us
The property management creates environments where life can take place by planning, building, renting, managing, and developing premises and outdoor environments for the City of Gothenburg's operations. Every day, hundreds of thousands of Gothenburgers are active in preschools, schools, care homes, and other premises that we manage.
Together with the city environment management, the exploitation management, and the city planning management, we have a coordinated responsibility for urban development in the city of Gothenburg. This means a shared distribution of responsibilities and roles based on phases: planning; implementation and management with the goal of contributing to a cohesive, efficient, and transparent urban development for residents, visitors, and businesses in the city.
