Operations Technician for Simsholmen Wastewater Treatment Plant

Your New Job
In anticipation of upcoming retirements, we are now looking for an operations technician who wants to become part of our team. As an operations technician at the wastewater treatment plant, you will be part of the Water and Wastewater Department, which is responsible for delivering clean drinking water and managing wastewater for the entire Jönköping Municipality.
The operations cover about 13 wastewater treatment plants and approximately 120 pumping stations. The operations are divided into two areas: Huskvarna Wastewater Treatment Plant (eastern) and Simsholmen Wastewater Treatment Plant (western) in Jönköping — and it is to Simsholmen that we are now seeking a new colleague.
You will belong to a group that currently consists of seven operations technicians and two plant workers, and together you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
Your Responsibilities
You will have a varied daily routine with a rotating schedule of tasks. Examples of tasks include:
- Daily supervision of facilities
- Planning and performing preventive maintenance
- Troubleshooting and resolving operational disturbances
- Monitoring and optimizing the treatment process
- Working on improvements and minor renovations
- Taking samples and following up on analysis results

We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsible, and structured. You are attentive, have a good eye for detail, and act quickly when something deviates — which allows you to detect and solve problems in time.

Requirements
- Experience in operations and maintenance from wastewater treatment plants, water production, other process industries, or equivalent
- Valid driver's license (B)
- Good computer skills
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant technical education in water and wastewater engineering/process technology/environment/machinery and completed courses with Swedish Water (or equivalent competence)
- Knowledge of biological and chemical treatment processes as well as sampling and analysis of water and sludge
- Experience with operational, control, and monitoring systems (SCADA), basic electrical and automation skills
- Practical experience in mechanical maintenance of facility equipment
- Knowledge of safety procedures, chemical handling, and working in confined spaces
- Familiarity with maintenance systems/digital case management tools, valid forklift/hoist license, and interest in environmental sustainability and energy efficiency

Good to Know
The position is a permanent employment at 100% with a start date to be agreed upon. Working hours are weekdays from 07:00 to 16:00. On-call duty will be included in the position upon retirement or when the need arises.
