Welcome to apply for summer jobs and seasonal work as a church custodian at Vetlanda parish.

Some of the most common tasks at the cemetery/grave site and our other areas include planting and caring for plants, watering, weeding, hedge trimming, tree pruning, trimming, lawn mowing, and leaf collection. As a custodian in a church, you are responsible for a variety of tasks. This can include everything from property maintenance and upkeep of the church building to preparing and performing work in facilities for services and other events.

Work with smaller loaders and other gardening machines may also occur for those who have the necessary qualifications and training. In your work at the cemetery, you will meet visitors daily who may need everything from practical help, guidance on cemetery-related questions, to a listening ear.

You will be the face of the Church of Sweden at the cemetery, and being able to meet visitors with dignity and empathy is seen as fundamental prerequisites for the job. You will work both independently and together with other cemetery workers and church custodians. You see the whole picture and help others when needed.

We use modern tools, but the work is physically demanding. Heavy lifting is involved.

We work outdoors regardless of the weather.
