Job Responsibilities
Do you want to make a difference as a support assistant for individuals living in BmSS? We are looking for a new colleague who wants to provide support to individuals in their daily lives, both inside and outside the home.
The women’s residence at Övralidsgatan 4 is a group home in Hisings Backa focused on social psychiatry and intellectual disabilities. Since this is a women’s residence, only women live here. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our wonderful workgroup characterized by good collaboration, a sense of responsibility, and positive energy.
As a support assistant, you will support our tenants based on individual needs, aiming for a good and independent life. The starting point is that our tenants should be involved and have the opportunity to influence decisions and interventions according to their own abilities. You will provide support in daily life, ranging from communication and stimulation of leisure activities to household chores. Assisting with hygiene is part of the job, so it is important to be comfortable with this.
As a support assistant, you will collaborate with all other individuals involved with the tenant, such as guardians, social workers, relatives, and healthcare professionals. The work includes social documentation and medication management according to delegation. All social documentation is done in the documentation system Treserva.
By establishing and following implementation plans, you ensure that the tenants' needs are in focus. The work includes motivating tenants in their daily lives. This may involve stimulating contacts outside the residence and creating conditions for a fulfilling leisure time based on the user's interests. As a support assistant, you enable our tenants to develop and grow.
The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and sleeping on-call shifts, and we work every other weekend. Since we collaborate with other units, you need to be prepared for some of the work to occur in other operations. We use Time Care Planning for operationally adapted and flexible schedules.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the area of disabilities that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof corresponding to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.
Communication is an important part of the job, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
It is a requirement that you have previously worked within BmSS. You also need to have prior experience with social documentation and experience working with psychiatric diagnoses.
It is an advantage if you have knowledge and experience of the following methods: LAB (low-arousal approach), ESL (an independent life), AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), and MI (motivational interviewing).
You take responsibility for your tasks and the group's tasks. You think of those we are here for and their best interests.
You are friendly and helpful to others even in stressful situations. You show respect for everyone you meet at work.
You convey information and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing. You ensure that your message gets across.
You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions.
You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results.
Welcome with your application!
